Drammensbiblioteket og læringsarenaen - kan fokus på en felles læringsarena være et institusjonelt bindemiddel i et sambibliotek?

Denne oppgaven omhandler Drammensbiblioteket som læringsarena og de utfordringene et sambibliotek kan møte med tanke på at det skal favne alle tenkelige brukergrupper samtidig som alle typer bibliotekansatte skal finne seg til rette i nye samarbeidsformer. Mitt primære mål er å gi Drammensbiblioteket en tilbakemelding på hvordan det internt og i møtet med brukerne kan skape en god læringsarena. Jeg ønsker også at dette dokumentet skal kunne brukes som et refleksjonsverktøy for bibliotek i omstilling, samt at jeg har en visjon om at det skal bli et større fokus på kunnskap og læring internt i bibliotekinstitusjoner. For å belyse problemstillingene bruker jeg kvalitative intervjuer fortolket ved hjelp av institusjonell teori, og jeg argumenterer for at kjennskap til teorier om informasjon, kunnskap og læring er avgjørende for hvordan en institusjon som bibliotek kan oppfylle sine mål.This thesis discusses Drammensbiblioteket as a learning arena and the challenges a joint-use library might meet in its attempt to embrace all user groups at the same time as all library employees are supposed to adjust to new colleagues and workforms. My primary goal is to give Drammensbiblioteket a feedback on how it can create a good learning arena internal as well as for its users. I also wish that this document can function as a “tool for reflection” for other joint-use libraries and for libraries in reorganization. In addition I have a vision that the library field will gain a larger focus on knowledge and learning within their institutions. To illuminate my research questions I use qualitative interviews analyzed with institutional theory, and I argue that knowledge to theories of information, knowledge and learning is essential for how institutions as libraries can fulfill their goals.Master i bibliotek- og informasjonsvitenska

Science fiction at the Science Library, University of Oslo: how to actively use an SF collection as a sandbox for science

The University of Oslo Science Library holds a large collection of SF literature. The collection is only 5 years old, but has a rapid growth due to donations. This article describes why the Science Library as an academic institution needs a collection of SF, the nature of the collection, how we use the collection in innovations, and how we want the collection to evolve in the future. Important aspects of the development includes focus on public outreach projects, both to our scientific colleagues and to the greater public. This also means new ways to view library metadata and user-generated metadata
